And in freshman year I froze — I could ace an exam but could not choose a research direction without calling home. 能考满分,却不敢自己选方向。 What fixed it was not less ambition. It was starting to keep my OWN record — my labs, my mistakes, my choices. 是开始记录自己的选择。 Now I am a 2.
